After the Quarter Quell, she was considered as mentally ill when she stayed in a hospital jn District 13. The hovercraft that rescued her went directly to District 13. This district is located underground, but it turned out to be so much better the district where she came from. The people never went hungry and are now being educated and trained. Catching Fire (Book Summary)

Winning the game didn’t mean that it’s the end of their role because it turned out that they haven’t even started yet. When they were declared victors, Peeta and Katniss faced more consequences. When Katniss and her family moved to the victor’s village, they were visited by President Snow, telling her that she caused a rebellion. She made the capitol look like a fool when she outsmarted them using the berries. As a consequence, she ought to prove that she’s really inlove with Peeta, that what she did was simply because she was blinded by love and she never intended to start a rebellion. Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins (Summary)

Katniss Everdeen participated in the 74th Hunger Games because of her sister, Primrose, who was the one originally chosen. Together with Peeta Mellark, a baker’s son, they went to the Capitol, representing District 12. During an interview by Caesar Flickerman, Katniss was called the “Girl on Fire” and Peeta gave the audience an idea that they could be starcrossed lovers – it was after he declared his admiration for Katniss. Although Katniss was angry at first, it was still to their advantage since the capitol craves for more entertainment and having them both in the games will surely make it more interesting because at the end of the game (if they both survive) then they have to kill each other.
